Our Coordinators
Cessia Flores
I’m a junior at FGCU, majoring in Exercise Science. I have a passion for learning about anatomy and the sciences, and in my free time, I enjoy coloring as a way to relax and express creativity. One of my favorite books is Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst, which has inspired me in many ways.

Emily Puertas
I’m a freshman at Richmond University, majoring in Biology. I’ve been part of BBOL for four years, and I absolutely love helping kids and watching them discover the joy of reading.

Jayden Nelson
I’m a Biochemistry major and joined BBOL because I wanted to make a lasting, tangible impact on the kids I help. Growing up as an avid reader, I understand how important reading is for learning and personal growth. Looking ahead, I plan to apply to medical school with the goal of becoming a doctor.

Liz Mendez
I’m a senior at FGCU, double majoring in Psychology and Digital Media Design. I’m part of BBOL because I love supporting students as they grow—and because I’m a big fan of reading! A fun fact about me: I studied abroad in South Korea last spring, which was an unforgettable experience.

Naomi Perez
I'm an FGCU graduate with plans to apply to law school in Fall 2027. I’m passionate about food, adventure, and pursuing my goal of becoming a family attorney. Right now, I’m enjoying reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.
